So, I find the room. Kill two crypt fiends. OK. That's two of five. The quest log doesn't record the two kills. Wait for 10 minutes, nothing. So I return the the Abbey, and come back thinking it was just a "qlitch". Second time, same thing. Two out of five. Even after the two kills, the green indicator still shows I'm in the right place yet three fiends short.

Any ideas where I can find the other three so I can complete the mission. I'd prefer to not have to abandon it.

Accursed Path? Is that the one from Oberon the Reviled in pre-searing?
Don't those simply spawn in the corridor from which you came?

2 Crypt fiends in a room reminds me of the Prized Moa bird quest... have you checked your quest log to see if you're on the correct quest?

I think GreatLich has it right: there are several different quests where you kill tomb nightmare/fiends/thingies in the catacombs. You may have the wrong one selected.

Prize Moa Bird (everyone)
Necro primary/secondary: Blood fanatics (Kasha?), Accursed Path (Oberan), Necromancer's Path (Munne)

I have the same problem as Lunen:

- I get the quest from Oberan
- I turn around, encounter a Crypt Fiend, kill it (no update in quest log)
- I find the crypt with the green quest starry thing: 2 Crypt Fiends appear, I kill them, still no update in quest log

Grmbl, hate unfinished quests in my quest log

Ok, I just went back to Oberan, got the ?-option of Accursed Path, and after that, 5 Crypt Fiends appeared and once I killed them, I got my quest finished

This is exactly what happened to me the first time I did it. The green glowey thing took me back to the room for the Prized Moa Bird quest (which I had already completed). I got 2 there, and never found any more. No quest update. It bothered me because if I walked 5 feet away, the green dot would appear on the compass, and as I approached it it would disappear. I finally went back to Oberon about it, and suddenly the Fiends appeared one at a time just down the corridor.

I've done this quest with other characters later and never had this problem again, so I don't know if it's because I didn't wait long enough, or what. But the map marker was definitely leading me to the wrong place.

To make a long story short (too late...) You should be able to see the Fiends when standing next to Oberon. They are just down the hall from you. If you see a marker telling you to go somewhere else, don't. Wait for a bit, and if no Fiends appear, talk to Oberon again.
